1983 ICC World Cup - An Introduction
The 1983 ICC Cricket World Cup was the third edition of the tournament. For the third time, it was held in England in June 1983. Two times world champions, West Indies lost the title to India. India beat West Indies by 43 runs in the final at Lord's to win their first World Cup Title.
Eight countries participated in the event. The preliminary matches were played in two groups of four teams each, and each country played the others in its group twice. The top two teams in each group qualified for the knockout round of semi-finals and final.

Group B - West Indies, India, Zimbabwe, Australia
