ENG vs IND 2nd T20I: 'Better late than never', or whatever the 34-year-old English bowler Richard Gleeson would be thinking. After making his debut at an age when most bowlers are past their prime, the right-arm fast-medium bowler dismissed the Indian top 3 batters and some of the most famous names in cricket.

After Rishabh Pant came out to open with Rohit Sharma in an interesting move, the duo charged against the English bowlers as they added 49 runs in just 4.4 overs for the first wicket. Richard Gleeson, the 34-year-old pacer on debut, was handed the ball for the 5th over. The bowler was smacked for a four on the second delivery by Indian captain Rohit Sharma.

On the 5th delivery, however, Gleeson bowled a short & quick delivery which hurried the batter. Rohit Sharma backed away, looking to pull it but only got a glove. Buttler was quick in back pedalling and dived to complete a safe catch. Rohit Sharma was dismissed after scoring 31 runs in 20 deliveries with 3 fours and 2 sixes.

Gleeson was continued in the attack as he came on to bowl the 7th over, where Virat Kohli, who replaced in form Deepak Hooda for this match, was on strike for the first delivery. Gleeson bowled the first delivery back of a length around with some pace and bounce as Kohli looked to take him on. However, Kohli managed only a top edge which flew over backward point. Malan, positioned inside the circle, sprinted back and took a fine catch. Kohli was dismissed after scoring just 1 run in 3 balls.

On the very next delivery, Pant shimmied against a length ball and swung it across the line. However, the bowler was smart enough to follow the left-hander on leg. A thick inside edge was induced and Buttler completed an easy catch behind the stumps. Pant was dismissed after scoring a quick 26 runs off 15 balls with 4 fours & a six.
