BPL 2017: Rangpur Riders fined for slow over-rate
Nov.23 (CRICKETNMORE) - Rangpur Riders have been fined for maintaining a slow over-rate against Dhaka Dynamites during their AKS BPL 2017 match at the SBNCS, Dhaka on 21 November 2017.
Match Referee Samiur Rahman imposed the fine after Rangpur were found to be two (02) overs short of the mark when time allowances were taken into consideration.
In accordance with Article 2.5.1 of the BCB Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to minor over-rate offences, players are fined 10 per cent of their match fees for every over their side fail to bowl within the allotted time, with the captain fined double that amount.
Accordingly, Rangpur Captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza has been fined 40 percent of his match fee, while his players have received 20 percent fines. Mortaza pleaded guilty to the offence and accepted the proposed sanction and as such there was no need for a formal hearing.
The charge was laid by on-field umpires Riaz Uddin and Anisur Rahman, third umpire Morshed Ai Khan and fourth umpire Moniruzzaman Tinku.
