Andy Flower - former Zimbabwe captain & batter, and a reputed T20 coach, has been named as the coach for the unnamed Lucknow franchise. The reports stated that Lucknow was looking at 5-6 ex IPL coaches before they finalised Andy Flower.

Andy Flower resigned as the assistant coach of the Punjab Kings, signalling that he'd aim for a bigger role in the IPL. Earlier this year, the 53-year-old declined an offer to coach the Pakistan cricket team as he wanted to continue in franchise cricket.

Apart from Punjab Kings, Andy Flower has worked with Multan Sultans in Pakistan Super League & St. Lucia Zouks in the Caribbean Premier League. However, his true recognition lies in his stint with England from 2009 to 2014 where he won a T20 World Cup, twin Ashes victories & rise to no. 1 spot in the rankings.

The Lucknow franchise was bought by the Sanjiv-Goenka led RPSG group for 7090 crores, who earlier owned Rising Pune Supergiants for 2 years. Many reports have stated that this franchise would be going for last season's Punjab Kings' captain KL Rahul in the upcoming draft or auction.
