Australia vs Sri Lanka 3rd T20I: Just 2 days ago, Mumbai Indians placed their trust in the Daniel Sams as they bought the 29-year old for a sum of 2.60 crores INR. And the Australian all-rounder has started to prove this trust placed by MI accurate with his brilliance in the field.

In the ongoing T20I match between Australia and Sri Lanka, the tourists had a shaky start as they first lost Danushka Gunathilaka in the 3rd over, and then Charith Asalanka in the same over. Opener Pathum Nissanka held one end patiently and was trying to set his eye in. However, as soon as the Lankan opener started to look set, Daniel Sams sent the batter back to the pavilion with an excellent catch.

The 8th over of the Sri Lanka innings was being bowled by Glenn Maxwell, who only bowled one over in the match. Maxwell bowled the second bowl around the wicket to the right-hander, pitching the ball on a fullish good length. Nissanka tried to take on the part-time bowler with a strong swipe across the line.

The ball seemed to be travelling fast and it looked like that Nissanka has smacked a flat-six. However, Daniel Sams, fielding at deep square leg, ran towards his right. He timed his jump to perfection as he caught the ball airborne with both his hands, just mere inches away from the boundary line, completing a wonderful catch.

Cricket Australia posted a video of the same on their official Twitter handle. The caption reads: 'Daniel Sams runs, dives, slides and completed a cracking catch!' Also, the commentators termed this catch by Daniel Sams as a 'ripper'.

While talking about the match, after being put in to bat first, Sri Lanka were restricted 121/6 in 20 overs. Nissanka, Chandimal and Shanaka were the only three Lankan batters who managed to score in double digits against a determined and dangerous Australian bowling attack. Kane Richardson was the pick of the bowlers for hosts, with 3 wickets in his 4 overs while giving away just 21 runs. Ashton Agar, Josh Hazlewood and Glenn Maxwell also picked 1 wicket each. Before this, Australia won the first two T20Is against Sri Lanka in the 5-match series.
