AUS vs WI 2nd Test: Match Preview:

The second and final test between Australia and West Indies is set to be played at Adelaide Oval. The match will be a day-night test where the pink ball will be used. Hosts Australia will carry winning momentum after a dominating 164-run win in the 1st test. While West Indies have a difficult task cut out for them of levelling the series.

Marnus Labuschagne was the star with the bat as he smashed 204 runs in the first innings and followed up with a ton in the 2nd innings, becoming only the 8th cricketer to do so. Steve Smith also scored 200 runs in the 1st innings as well, while David Warner neared his half-century in the 2nd innings, missing just by 2 runs. Travis Head was also a bit unlucky in the 1st innings as he was dismissed just 1 run shy of his ton. Opener Usman Khawaja managed to give a good start to the Australian team with 65 runs in the 1st innings.

In bowling, Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins grabbed three wickets each in the 1st innings, along with Nathan Lyon picking up 2 wickets. Josh Hazlewood and Cameron Green also managed 1 wicket each. In the 2nd innings, Lyon was the star as he grabbed as many as 6 wickets, while Travis Head chipped in with 2 wickets. Starc and Hazlewood also managed 1 wicket each.

For West Indies, Kraigg Brathwaite was the top scorer with 110 runs in the 2nd innings, as none of the other batters managed to smack a ton in reply to Australia's high scores. Kraigg Brathwaite scored 64 runs in the 1st inning while debutant Tagenarine Chanderpaul also scored 51 runs while opening the innings. Roston Chase smacked 55 runs along with Alzarri Joseph scoring 43 runs in the 2nd innings but in the end, the target proved too much without someone stepping up with a big score to support captain Brathwaite.

West Indies' bowling disappointed heavily, where none of the bowlers were able to take more than 2 wickets in the two innings combined. While Jayden Seales and Kyle Mayers picked up 1 wicket each in the first innings along with Brathwaite picking up two, Kemar Roach and Roston Chase were the only wicket-takers in the 2nd innings with 1 wicket each.
