Avesh Khan, on the other hand, has impressed since his debut and was aggressively sought after in the IPL 2022 auction. It was a remarkable experience for any cricket fan to see these two youngsters face off against each other in Mumbai Indians vs Lucknow Super Giants.

Avesh Khan was handed the responsibility to bowl the last over of the powerplay. MI were at 48/1 in 5 overs, with Ishan Kishan 12*(14) and Dewald Brevis 23*(9) on the crease. The South African batter had already smacked 4 fours and a six till then.

After Kishan took a single on the first delivery and gave the strike to Brevis, the 18-year old batter took on Avesh and smacked him for a four on the second delivery. The bowler pitched the delivery up and Brevis heaved it through mid-wicket. Timed and placed to perfection, there was no chance for any fielder to stop that from going to the fence.

Avesh pulled the length back on the next delivery and delivered a short ball. However, Dewald Brevis smacked it down the ground with a horizontal bat for a four.

However, Avesh followed up with a dot ball on the next delivery. On the 5th delivery, Brevis tried to take on a full toss by Avesh Khan and ended up giving a simple catch to Deepak Hooda at cover. An anti-climatic ending for a promising inning as Dewald Brevis was dismissed after scoring 31 runs in 13 balls with 4 fours and a six.
