Babar Azam Completes 5000 T20 Runs; Becomes Third-Fastest Batsman To Do So

Babar Azam became the third-fastest batsmen to complete 5000 T20 runs. He achieved this feat while playing for Somerset where he scored 114 runs in 62 balls against Glamorgan in the ongoing T20 blast tournament. He hit 9 fours and 5 sixes during this innings. 

His 5000 runs came in just 145 innings. Chris Gayle and Shaun Marsh are the only two batsmen ahead of him. The swashbuckling West Indian batsman went past the 5000 run mark in 132 innings while the Australian took 144 innings to achieve this feat.  

Babar Azam went past Aaron Finch's record, who reached this milestone in 159 innings. Martin Guptill occupies the fifth position in this list as he has scored these runs in 163 innings. 

Somerset, with the help of Azam's 114 runs, scored 183 runs in the first innings. Glamorgan was bowled for mere 117 runs while chasing as Somerset won the match by 66 runs.
