1st Test: Bangladesh 154/3 at Stumps on rain interrupted first day
Jan. 12 (CRICKETNMORE) - Bangladesh were 154-3 against New Zealand at stumps on a rain-disrupted opening day of the first Test at Basin Reserve in Wellington. Mominul Haque was on 64 while allrounder Shakib Al Hasan was 5 not out when umpires called off the play due to bad light.
Earlier New Zealand captain Kane Williamson had won the toss and opted to field. Tim Southee struck early in the windy Wellington conditions, with opening batsman Imrul Kayes caught by Trent Boult at the boundary for 1.
The pther Bangladesh opener Tamim played an attacking knock to brought up his 20th Test half century from 48 balls and had scored 52 of Bangladesh's first 56 runs. he scored 56 before being dismissed by Trent Boult.
