BBL 10: Nabi Helps Melbourne Renegades Chase 178 Against Adelaide Strikers
Allrounder Mohammad Nabi smacks 71 to help Melbourne Renegades chase 178 against Adelaide Strikers in the 33rd match of Big Bash League(BBL) on Friday.
Nabi and Jake Fraser-McGurk stitched an unbeaten 68 run partnership to finish the match with a ball to spare. Nabi smashed 71 off 41 balls with the help of nine fours and two sixes. Fraser-McGurk supported him well with 29 from 23 balls, which included two sixes.
Renegades started well with the chase scoring 35 from the powerplay but Aaron Finch just before the end of four overs. Mackenzie Harvey soon got as well. Jack Prestwidge and Mohammad Nabi build a strong platform to the chase with their 42 run stand.
Earlier, Strikers opted to bat first and scored 177/7 with the help of a powerful top-order performance. Matt Renshaw and Philip Salt gave a strong start to the innings, which was then carried on by Alex Carey.
However, Peter Hatzoglou triggered a lower-order collapse after he broke the 75 run stand between Carey and Salt. Strikers could only manage to score 41 runs in the last five overs and lost five wickets.
