BCCI Planning To Squeeze In South Africa, New Zealand T20I Series Before World Cup

The Board of Control for Cricket in India(BCCI) is planning to add a couple of T20I series before the World Cup 2021 for the Indian team to 'remain in touch with the format.'

According to the reports, the Indian board is in touch with South Africa and New Zealand boards to figure out the modalities. 

"South Africa and New Zealand are scheduled to come to India to play a couple of T20I series before the World Cup. The modalities are to be finalized. The board is aware that the team needs to be in touch with the format before the cup starts," a senior BCCI official said. 

The Indian team already has a packed schedule ahead of the World Cup with the players traveling to England for the World Test Championship right after the IPL 2021 ends. India is scheduled to play a five-match test series against England which will only end by mid-September. 

India will host a test series against New Zealand right after the World Cup and then, is scheduled to board a flight to South Africa for a long tour.
