In the 13th match of the IPL 2022, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will take on Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. RCB has defeated RR in the last four matches (i.e both IPL 2020 & 2021).

Let's take a look at the best impact players to watch out for in the RCB vs RR IPL match today:

1) Rajasthan Royals' Spin Duo - R Ashwin & Yuzvendra Chahal

RCB batters that are expected to play during the middle overs are Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli, and Sherfane Rutherford. In recent times, the trio isn't that comfortable playing against spin.

  • Du Plessis vs wrist spin - SR 114, Avg 51, vs off-spin - SR 106, Avg 18.
  • V Kohli vs wrist spin - SR 116, Avg 46, vs off-spin - SR 116, Avg 46.
  • S Rutherford vs wrist spin - SR 110, Avg 11, vs off-spin - SR 97, Avg 26.

Yuzvendra Chahal and R Ashwin are two of the best spinners playing in the IPL. The duo complements each other where Ashwin controls the game and puts pressure on the batters, Chahal reaps reward from the other end. These two will be operating for the large parts of the middle overs and could end the game for RCB in their eight overs.

Another interesting thing about the duo is while Ashwin has a high probability of taking LHB wickets, Chahal troubles RHBs a lot - in the middle overs, the leg spinner has a near 60% probability of taking a wicket of RHBs.

2) Shahbaz Ahmed

Shahbaz is the floater batter that RCB uses from time to time. He can play anywhere he is asked. One some days Shahbaz is seen batting at number three, on other days he could come in as a finisher.

The idea of sending him as a floater depends upon the situation of the game. Shahbaz is an LHB and has the ability to play crucial cameos to shift the momentum. He can take on both spin and pace, but mostly spin. If RCB sends him in the middle overs, Shahbaz Ahmed vs RR spinners could be a great battle to watch.

Ahmed also bowls SLA. He adds value to all three departments.

3) Shimron Hetmyer

Royals have got Hetmyer as their finisher and in the last two games, he has done his job to perfection. From 12-20 overs, Hetmyer has hit 67 runs in 27 balls he has faced at a strike rate of 248.15.

Hetmyer has a high range of shots against both pace and spin. In the 12-16 overs, he strikes at 144 and averages 33 and in the 17-20 overs, Hetmyer's SR goes up to 195.
