A dominating all-round show helped Chennai Super Kings defeat Delhi Capitals by 91 runs in match 55 of the IPL 2022 played at Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy, Mumbai.

Chasing a mammoth total of 209, Delhi lost both openers - KS Bharat and David Warner - inside the five overs. DC still managed to smack 59 runs in the powerplay courtesy of Mitchell Marsh and Rishabh Pant's fiery starts.

However, neither of the two could manage to play long as Marsh got out scoring 25 off 20 while Pant made 21 in 11. Post their dismissal, DC lost the track completely and never really made a comeback, and eventually got bowled out for 117 in the 18th over.

All the CSK bowlers chipped in with at least one wicket. Moeen Ali picked three wickets - Marsh, Pant, and Ripal Patel; Dwayne Bravo, Mukesh Choudhary, and Simarjeet Singh got two wickets each while Maheesh Theekshana removed David Warner.

Earlier, Devon Conway powered the Super Kings to 208/6 in the first inning.

Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad were once again off to a brilliant start and added 110 runs in 11 overs for the first wicket. Gaikwad scored 41 in 33 balls before Anrich Nortje got him out. Conway then added 59 runs off 33 balls with Shivam Dube for the second wicket.

Conway smacked 87 runs in 49 balls with the help of seven fours and five sixes. Dube scored 32 off 19 balls. The perfect finish was given by MS Dhoni, who scored 21 in eight balls for CSK to breach the 200-run barrier.

For DC, Nortje picked three wickets, Khaleel Ahmed got two while Marsh managed one wicket.
