With less than a week to go for the start of the Indian Premier League(IPL), Covid-19 has entered the bio-bubble as Royal Challengers Bangalore opener Devdutt Padikkal tested positive on Saturday.

Padikkal has been put under isolation and all the medication is given to the opening batsman, who was likely to open with Virat Kohli in the season opener against Mumbai Indians on 9th April.

The RCB squad is currently training in Chennai.

This news comes after Delhi Capitals' all-rounder Axar Patel was also tested positive for the virus in Mumbai along with members of the ground staff of Wankhede Stadium and event managers.

The BCCI has not pressed the panic button as of yet and has made sure that more strictness and urgent steps will be taken so that the tournament is completed safely and smoothly.

Earlier, Kolkata Knight Riders batsman Nitish Rana was also tested positive. After completing his isolation period, he got a negative result and has now started training with the squad in Mumbai. KKR team is currently in Mumbai and will leave for Chennai to play where they are scheduled to play their first leg of matches.
