'Out Of Context': Dale Steyn Responds After Getting Trolled Over IPL Comment
South African fast bowler Dale Steyn has come up with a response a day after getting heavily trolled over a comment on the Indian Premier League(IPL).
Steyn was attacked by the troll army as soon as he said that leagues like PSL and LPL give more importance to cricket whereas the sport gets forgotten over money in the IPL.
"I wanted to take a bit more time off. I found that playing in those other leagues was slightly more rewarding as a player," Steyn had said. "I think when you go to the IPL there are such big squads and so many big names and so much emphasis on the amount of money that the players earn that somewhere along the line the cricket kind of gets forgotten. When you come to the PSL or the LPL, there's an importance on the cricket."
Steyn has now come up with a tweet clarifying that his intention was not to degrade, insult or compare leagues and that his words were taken out of context.
Dale Steyn is currently playing the Pakistan Super League and is part of the Quetta Gladiators squad. Steyn was part of Virat Kohli's Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL 2020. He announced that he won't be participating in the IPL 2021 to take a time off.
