David Miller Smacks Three Consecutive Sixes In The Last Over To Take GT To Finals; Watch Video Here

GT vs RR IPL 2022 - After finishing atop the points table in the league stage of IPL 2022, Gujarat Titans went on to become the first team to qualify for the finals this season. David Miller, along with captain Hardik Pandya, played excellent knocks to chase down a considerable total against a good bowling attack.

After Gujarat Titans lost their third wicket in the 10th over in the form of Matthew Wade, Miller & Pandya got in the middle and held the innings for the new franchise. With the partnership going strong with occasional and needed boundaries, GT finally required 16 runs off the last over.

Hardik was not out on 40 runs in 27 deliveries on the non-striker's end, while Miller was on strike, batting at 50 runs in 35 deliveries. Young Prasidh Krishna came on to bowl the last over of the innings. 

Prasidh went for a wide delivery on the first ball, but it wasn't wide enough as Miller stepped across and smashed it for a six over long-on, bringing the equation down to 10 runs in 5 balls. 

The bowler went with a length delivery on the middle, and the South African batter swung it, dispatching it miles away over mid-wicket. With this hit, David Miller brought GT to the edge of victory, requiring just 4 runs off 4 deliveries.

The next delivery, a slower one, was smoked over mid-wicket by awaiting David Miller for a six, finishing the match with 3 deliveries remaining. Miller remained not out on 68 runs in 38 deliveries with 3 fours & 5 sixes.

Earlier, GT captain Hardik Pandya won the toss & opted to bowl first against RR in Qualifier 1 of the IPL 2022. This match was played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
