An all-round show from Delhi Capitals helped them get back to winning ways as they defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 44 runs in the 19th match of the IPL 2022 played at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai.

Chasing a mammoth target of 216, KKR couldn't start well as they lost two wickets - Venkatesh Iyer and Ajinkya Rahane - inside the powerplay and could only manage 43 runs.

Nitish Rana and Shreyas Iyer added 69 runs in 42 balls to keep up with the required run rate that kept increasing on each dot ball. Rana hit 30 in 20 balls before getting out in the 12th over.

Shreyas, who reached his fifty in 32 balls, got out the very next ball trying to once again smash Kuldeep Yadav for a six. Two overs later, Sam Billings also got out, pushing KKR further out of the game.

In the 16th over, Kuldeep removed Pat Cummins, Sunil Narine, and Umesh Yadav in the span of four deliveries to complete his four-wicket haul.

The required run rate was too much to ask for even Andre Russell as KKR eventually got bowled out for 171 in 19.4 overs and suffered its second loss of the season. DC, on the other hand, registered the second win in four matches.

Earlier, Prithvi Shaw and David Warner smacked half-centuries to power Delhi to a huge total of 215/5 in the first inning.

Shaw and Warner hammered 93 runs in 8.4 overs for the opening wicket. Shaw was the aggressor among the two and scored 51 in 29 balls with the help of seven fours and two sixes. Warner dropped anchor and scored 61 in 45 balls including six fours and two sixes.

Rishabh Pant, Axar Patel, and Shardul Thakur played brilliant cameo - all in 20s - to give DC a terrific finish in the end.
