A very interesting thing happened in the last night's match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Lucknow Super Giants. RCB successfully defended 182 runs against LSG as the KL Rahul-led side fell short by 18 runs.

During the run chase, Rahul was looking in fine touch as he scored 30 runs in 24 balls to keep Super Giants in the game after losing two early wickets. On the last ball of the eighth over, Harshal Patel bowled a delivery that went down the leg, very close to Rahul's body & bat.

The RCB players appealed half-heartedly and the umpire wasn't interested but also didn't call it a wide. RCB decided to review, and on replay, it was shown that Rahul had touched the ball with the bat and had to go back to the pavilion. Rahul was disappointed and was even fined 20% of his match fee for his reaction after the game.

However, it wasn't clear which player prompted Faf du Plessis to take the DRS in the first place.

Post-match, Dinesh Karthik was asked about the dismissal in which he revealed that it was he who asked du Plessis to take a chance since it was Rahul who was batting. Karthik also said that he wasn't sure whether Rahul had touched the ball and watching Virat Kohli excitedly running also made him doubtful.

"Actually I didn't know anything, to be honest. I thought he hit it. Virat came running but Virat comes running a lot so I always doubt that. I was waiting to see if anybody said anything and then because the umpire didn't give it wide, I told Faf just go for it. It was a key wicket because KL Rahul was batting well today," Karthik said on Star Sports at the end of the match.
