Eden stand named after Ganguly to be unveiled ahead of third ODI
Kolkata, Jan 21 (CRICKETNMORE): Former India captain and Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) president Sourav Ganguly on Saturday said the stand to be named after him at the Eden Gardens will be unveiled on Sunday when India play England in the third ODI here.
"Tomorrow four (stands) will be unveiled and four will be done later. The four for tomorrow are (Jagmohan) Dalmiya, B.N. Dutt, Pankaj Roy and mine," Ganguly told reporters here.
"The other four will be on the names of A.N. Ghosh, J.C. Mukherjee and two army officials," Ganguly said.
"The army was kind enough to allow us to name the stands. In 2009, Mr. Dalmiya had requested them for the same," Ganguly said.
Asked how he feels about his name now being etched in Eden folklore, Ganguly said, "It's a huge honour and I thank the working committee and Biswaroop (Dey, former CAB treasurer) for proposing my name."
