England beat Sri Lanka by 31 runs in second ODI (DLS Method)

Oct.13 (CRICKETNMORE) - England won a rain-affected second one-day international against Sri Lanka in Dambulla to go 1-0 up in the series.

England made 278-9 in 50 overs, and Sri Lanka was 140-5 when rain stopped play after 29 overs. Sri Lanka was 31 runs short of what it needed under the D/L calculation, so England won by 31 runs.

SCORECARD

Lasith Malinga (5/44) delivered his first ODI five-fer in four years to peg England back at the death restricting them to just 278 for 9.
