England thrash South Africa by 211 runs in first test
July 9 (CRICKETNMORE) - England thrashed South Africa by 211 runs to win the first Test at Lord’s on Sunday. Chasing down the victory target of 331, the visitors collapsed to 119 all out with more than a day to spare as England went 1-0 up in this four-match series.
Off-spinner Moeen Ali did the most damage as he took the career best of 6/53. He took 10 wickets in match and became the first England spinner since 1951 to take ten wickets in a Lord’s Test.
