Glamorgan Batter Sam Northeast Scripts History After Scoring Unbeaten 410 Runs In County Cricket

Glamorgan batter Sam Northeast has created history after scoring 400 plus runs in an inning against Leicestershire. With this inning, Sam registered his name with the great West Indies batsman Brian Lara. He has made a unique record of crossing the 400-run mark in an innings in first-class cricket. In the match played against Leicestershire, this batsman faced 450 balls and scored 410 not out. During this innings, NorthEast hit 45 fours and three sixes and his strike rate were 91.11.

Batsman came to bat in a difficult situation when the Glamorgan team was struggling at 9/2 in 6.1 overs. From here Northeast with a gallant partnership with Colin Ingram of South Africa, shared a 306-run partnership and strengthened the team. Colin Ingram held one side of the game and scored 139 runs. Even after Colin Ingram's dismissal, Sam NorthEast remained alive and he just not scored 400 runs but also crossed Lara's record.

Sam Northeast has become the first batsman to reach the 400-run mark for Glamorgan. Thanks to these innings, his team scored 795/5 runs, which is the second highest score in the history of county cricket.

Brian Lara remained unbeaten on 400 which remains the highest individual score in a Test innings to date. Brian Lara scored a record 400 runs against England during the fourth Test at Antigua in 2004. The world record score of the highest individual run in an inning was made by West Indies great Brian Lara, who had scored an unbeaten 501 for Warwickshire in 1994.
