Hope Shines With Ton In 100th Match; Powers West Indies To 311/6 Against India In 2nd ODI
WI vs IND 2nd ODI - After getting dismissed for a single-digit score in the 1st ODI, West Indies's opener Shai Hope, playing his 100th ODI, smacked a tremendous hundred. Along with captain Nicholas Poora, Hope powered West Indies to 311/6 against India in the 2nd ODI.
West Indies were off to a great start while batting first as the openers Kyle Mayers and Shai Hope added 65 runs for the first wicket in 9 overs. Mayers was dismissed by Deepak Hooda after scoring 39 runs off 23 balls with 6 fours & a six.
Shamarh Brooks came out to bat next and added 62 runs in 74 balls for the 2nd wicket. Axar Patel and Yuzvendra Chahal then struck consecutively, dismissing Brooks (35) and Brandon King (0) respectively. West Indies were at 130/3, after which captain Nicholas Pooran added 117 runs for the fourth wicket with Shai Hope.
Pooran was dismissed in the 44th over after scoring 74 runs in 77 balls with a four & 6 sixes. Shai Hope, however, after opening the innings, scored 115 runs off 135 balls with 8 fours & 3 sixes in his 100th ODI, before he was dismissed by Shardul Thakur in the 49th over.
For team India, Shardul Thakur grabbed 3 important wickets while Deepak Hooda, Axar Patel and Yuzvendra Chahal picked up 1 wicket each. India now requires 312 runs in 50 overs to build an unassailable 2-0 lead in the 3-match ODI series.

Earlier, West Indies captain Nicholas Pooran won the toss & opted to bat first against India in the 2nd ODI. This match is being played at Queen's Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad.
