KL Rahul led India for the first time ever during the tour of South Africa - one match in test and three ODIs. Even though he isn't the full-time captain in either of the formats, it is fair to say that he has become a part of the leadership group of the team.

Rahul has also led the Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League(IPL) for two seasons - 2020 and 2021 - before parting ways with the team to join the new IPL franchise, Lucknow Super Giants, where he will also be the captain.

Lucknow has named three draft picks ahead of the IPL Mega Auction in February - KL Rahul, Marcus Stoinis, and Ravi Bishnoi. Both the players have been part of the Punjab Kings and Bishnoi has played under the captaincy of KL for the last two seasons.

While talking in an interview, Rahul heaped praises on Bishnoi and even went on to say that he will be playing for India very soon and for a long time.

"He is very exciting. He is young and a wicket-taking option," Rahul on Backstage with Boria.

"I have played with him. He has a big heart for a youngster who hasn't played for the country or hasn't played too much IPL cricket. He wasn't scared to be in a fight, he wasn't over-awed by international batters he used to bowl to."

"He wanted to bowl to the likes of Pollard, Russell, Hardik, and Rishabh Pant. Whenever they came in, he said, "Bhaiya mujhe ball do, I want to take their wicket. So that's the kind of attitude you like in a player and he is a young guy.

I Know I can see him playing for the country for a long time and also playing for India really soon," KL Rahul concluded.

With Rahul being a part of the leadership group of not only the franchise Bishnoi plays but also of the Indian team, there is a good chance that we might see the young leg-spinner wearing the blue jersey very soon.
