India vs Sri Lanka: After getting off to a jittery start on a pitch that seems to be a rank turner, especially with the pink ball,  Shreyas Iyer showed a flurry of good shots as he guided India to a total of 252 in 59.1 overs as 2nd session was called on day 1.

India lost 4 wickets in the first session as they score 93 runs in the first session. In the second session, however, Iyer helped India pull back things for the team as he smacked 92 runs off 98 balls with 10 fours & 6 sixes.

Rishabh Pant was the first Indian batter to be dismissed in the session, after scoring quick 39 runs off 26 balls with 7 boundaries. Embuldeniya dismissed Pant and then went on to dismiss Ravindra Jadeja, who wasn't dismissed by the Lankans in the last 5 innings, just 4 overs later.

Dhananjaya de Silva managed to dismiss Ravichandran Ashwin (13) while Suranga Lakamal, who is playing his last match for Sri Lanka finally got his first wicket as he bowled Axar Patel. Mohammad Shami (5) was the next to depart as Dhananjaya de Silva picked his second wicket. Shreyas Iyer was the last batter to get dismissed as he missed his well-deserved century by 8 runs as Jayawickrama finished with 3 wickets.
