IND v WI: India Beat West Indies By 96 Runs, Clinch Series 3-0
India vs West Indies: A complete all-round performance helped India defeat West Indies by 96 runs and clinched the three-match ODI series 3-0 at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahemdabad.
Chasing a target of 266, West Indies lost three wickets inside the first five overs at the score of 25 runs. Mohammad Siraj began the proceedings with the wicket of Shai Hope in the fourth over while Deepak Chahar got Brandon King and Shamarh Brooks in the next over.
Prasidh Krishna struck in the 14th over to break Darren Bravo and Nicholas Pooran's 43-run stand and removed Jason Holder in the 16th over to send half of the West Indies' team back.
Kuldeep Yadav got Pooran out two overs later to reduce the visitors to 82/7. It seemed that West Indies could get bowled out within 100 runs but Odean Smith, Alzarri Joseph, and Hayden Walsh decided to dig in.
Odean smacked 36 off just 18 balls with the help of three fours and three sixes while Alzarri and Walsh played out 77 balls to add 47 runs for the ninth wicket partnership, frustrating the hosts.
Siraj and Prasidh took the last two wickets to bowl West Indies out for 169 runs and win the series 3-0.
Earlier, Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bat first and began the proceedings with a four on the first ball. However, it was the West Indies who made the most of the new ball as India lost three wickets at the end of the powerplay.
Alzarri Joseph got Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the same over, again. Kohli registered his 15th duck in ODIs while Rohit got bowled after scoring 13. Shikhar Dhawan also struggled to get going and was caught at slips.
Iyer and Pant joined hands in the 10th over to rebuild the innings. The duo did well as they added 110 runs in the next 124 balls. Pant was the aggressor in the partnership where he added 56 runs in 54 balls with the help of six fours and a six.
Suryakumar Yadav couldn't get going today as got caught at point. Iyer attempted to play aggressively but got caught as well for the score of 80; he hit nine fours during the innings.
With 13 overs still to go, Washington Sundar turned anchor while Deepak Chahar display some classy shots to push India past the 250-run mark. Chahar scored 38 with the help of four fours and two sixes. Sundar scored 33 in 34 balls as India finished at 265/10 in 50 overs.

For West Indies, Jason Holder picked up four wickets in eight overs, Joseph and Walsh got two each, while Odean Smith and Fabian Allen got one each.
