IND v WIN: Prasidh Krishna's four-wicket haul helped India defeat West Indies by 44 runs to take an unassailable lead in the three-match series 2-0.

Chasing a target of 238, West Indies lost two wickets inside the powerplay courtesy of Prasidh's sensational opening burst.

West Indies kept losing wickets at regular intervals, unable to build any partnerships as Indian bowlers kept the pressure. Shamarh Brooks and Akeal Hosein tried to stabilise the innings with a 54-ball-41 run partnership.

After Brooks got out after scoring 44 runs but Hosein kept going on with Fabian Allen. The duo added 42 runs in 49 balls and took the team closer to the total.

Odean Smith took on the Indian bowlers but his late charge didn't get much support as West Indies lost the match by 44 runs. Prasidh Krishna finished the match with the figures of 4/12 in nine overs.

Earlier, West Indies stand-in captain Nicholas Pooran won the toss and opted to bowl first. The decision turned out to be a good one as India lost three wickets inside the first 12 overs.

The Indian management took an interesting decision to open the innings with Rishabh Pant. Captain Rohit Sharma got out scoring just five runs. Pant didn't look comfortable at the new position and made 18 runs in 34 balls.

Pant and Virat Kohli added 30 runs for the second wicket in 49 balls. Odean Smith got the duo out in the same over as India got reduced to 43/3 in the 12 overs.

KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav began rebuilding the inning with their 90 run stand for the fourth wicket. Rahul looked in fine touch for his 48-ball-49. Just when he looked to freely score, Rahul got out in a bizarre fashion.

Suryakumar continued to rotate the strike and added 43 runs in 55 balls with Washington Sundar. In the 39th over, Suryakumar tried sweeping Fabian Allen but a top edge found him going back to the pavilion after scoring 64 runs.

Sundar tried to go big but found the fielder at the boundary as India lost the seventh wicket with eight overs remaining. Deepak Hooda tried hard to play with the lower order but had to restrict himself from hitting big shots. India managed to score 237/9 at the end of the innings.

Alzarri Joseph and Odean Smith took two wickets each while the rest of the bowling lineup got one-one each.
