India beat England by innings and 25 runs in the 4th test match which was played at the Narendra Modi Stadium. India not only won the match but clinched the series 3-1. Virat Kohli's men have now confirmed their place in the World Test Championship(WTC) Finals.

Here is the list of all records made during India vs England 4th Test:

1) India became the first team to win two consecutive series after losing the first match. India lost the first match against both Australia as well as England. Against Australia, they lost the first test match at Adelaide and went on to win the series 2-1. Against England as well, they lost the first match in Chennai and then came back to win the series 3-1.

2) Axar Patel took 28 wickets in his debut series. He has now become the highest wicket-taker for India in a debut series overtaking Dilip Joshi who took 27 against Australia in 1979-80.

3) Ravichandran Ashwin picked up 31 wickets in the series against England. He has now become the first Indian player to take 30 or more wickets in a Test series twice. Ashwin had earlier taken 31 wickets in the series against South Africa in 2015. He has also become the first player ever to pick 30 wickets in a four-match test series and also score a century.

 4) England captain Joe Root got out LBW six times during this series. Root has equaled the 40-year-old record of Mike Gatting in getting out LBW six or more times in a series. Gatting got this record in the 1981 Ashes series.

5) Indian all-rounder Washington Sundar missed out on a well-deserved maiden century against England in the 4th test. He has now become the 7th player from India to return to the pavilion unbeaten with a score of 90 or more in a test match. Sundar has joined Ajit Wadekar, Gundappa Vishwanath, Dilip Vengasarkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, and R Ashwin in the list.
