IND vs SL 1st Test Day 1 Tea: Sri Lanka Make A Mini Comeback, Kohli Misses 71st For 71st Time
India vs Sri Lanka: Sri Lanka made a sort of comeback after giving away 109 runs in the 1st session. On the other hand, Virat Kohli missed his 71st century for the 71st time after Embuldeniya clean bowled former captain for 45.
Virat Kohli and Hanuma Vihari continued their partnership after lunch as these two stood their ground firmly, adding 90 runs in 155 balls. Virat was then dismissed in the 18th over after lunch after Embuldeniya clean bowled the former skipper for a score of 45 runs in 76 balls. The famed batter yet again missed his 71st century after completing 8,000 test runs, and that too after producing some remarkable shots in his 100th international test.
Hanuma Vihari was also dismissed 3 overs later by left-arm medium-pacer Vishwa Fernando and Sri Lanka made a comeback with two quick wickets and that too of batters who were looking well set on the crease. Even though Sri Lanka managed two wickets in this session as well, they gave away just 90 runs as compared to 109 runs in the first session.
After losing Hanuma Vihari, who was batting at #3 for team India in the absence of Cheteshwar Pujara, and Virat Kohli were dismissed, India were left with two new batters Shreyas Iyer (14*) and Rishabh Pant (12*) have added 24 runs quickly.
