IND vs SL 2nd T20I: All Stats, Records After Dasun Shanaka's Thunderous Knock

Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka was in top form with the bat as well as with the ball as Sri Lanka downed India by 16 runs to win the 2nd T20I and level the series. Indian bowlers were taken to the cleaners while the top order was dismissed cheaply as Sri Lanka registered a series levelling win. 

After being put in to bat first, Sri Lanka got off to a thunderous start as openers Kusal Mendis and Pathum Nissanka added 55 runs in the powerplay. Kusal Mendis completed his 11th T20I fifty before Yuzvendra Chahal got rid of him in the 9th over. While Bhanuka Rajapaksa was dismissed in just three balls after being promoted to #3, Asalanka took the reigns from Mendis. 

Asalanka smashed 37 runs off just 19 balls but regular wickets eventually reduced Sri Lanka to 138/6 in 16 overs. From thereon, it was a Dasun Shanaka show as Sri Lanka added 68 runs in the last 4 overs. Shanaka registered 56 runs in 22 balls with 6 sixes to his name as the visitors posted a total in excess of 200.

While defending the total, Sri Lanka managed to dismiss the Indian top order cheaply. Only Suryakumar Yadav showed fight amongst specialist batters while Axar Patel was the top scorer with 65 runs off just 31 balls. With 21 runs to defend of the last over, Dasun Shanaka took the responsibility and dismissed Axar Patel and Shivam Mavi (26 off 15) to close the match for his team.
