Quotes

Man of the Match : R Ashwin : I expected not to play in the first 2 tests and the break helped me work more on my bowling and the results are coming out. I thought this wicket had more bounce on it. I really enjoyed bowling out here. If I am not wrong, Me and Jadeja have a partnership of 50-60 wickets against England and such a record really helps and to add on to it, Raina and Rayudu chipping in was a real bonus for us. We are looking to win as many games as possible and every game we look it as a series from now on.

MS Dhoni: The spinners did it for us. Ashwin and Jadeja bowled really well but it was Raina's spell was very important as we were one bowler short and it gave us the first breakthrough as they got off to a very good start. I never thought the wicket will have this much for spinners. It slowed down a bit. Rayudu also bowled very well. He is a good player of spin and we were looking for a solid number 4 batsman who can bat through the innings especially when Virat gets out. It will allow me, Raina and Jadeja to play natural innings. Virat is middling the ball well and I feel it is a matter of time before he turns it around.

Alastair Cook: We got off to a good start. We were 80 odd for no loss. Playing spinners is something which we are working on. I still don't agree it is a 230 wicket. We need to keep improving playing spin. India have a lot of quality in spin bowling. They are used to play in those conditions more. We need to stick to the basics. It is easier said than done. I think we have the right team for the condition. Never expected Trent Bridge to spin this much, but when it did we needed to adapt. It is good to see Finn coming back. The more he plays, better he will become.
