India clinch historic clean sweep against SL with easy win
Sept. 3 (CRICKETNMORE) - India comfortably beat Sri Lanka by 6 wickets in the fifth ODI at R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Sunday to clinch historic clean sweep in five match series. India become the first team to whitewash the Lankans in Sri Lanka.
Earlier, Bhuvneshwar Kumar recorded his best ever ODI figures, picking up 5/42 as India bowled out Sri Lanka for 238 in 49.4 overs. Chasing a target of 239 runs, India crossed the line with 21 balls to spare.
Kohli remained unbeaten on 110 runs off 116 balls, smashing nine boundaries along the way. He was involved in a 108-run partnership with Kedar Jadhav, who scored 63 runs off 73 balls before being caught behind off Wanidu Hasaranga's bowling a couple of balls before the end. This was Virat Kohli's 30th ODI ton and he now equals Ponting record of same number of centuries.
