England beat India in the first of the four-test match series. India will be looking forward to making a comeback in the 2nd test and level the series 1-1.

India vs England, 2nd Test Match Preview:
India didn't have a memorable game with the bat in the first test. The batsmen looked uncomfortable with the spin on offer. However, the management will be happy to see the contributions from Rishabh Pant and Washington Sundar in the first innings. Pant played a typical attacking inning, while Sundar once again showed his ability to bat with a gritty 85.
In the second innings, Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli contributed while the rest of the batsmen failed to survive on a day 5 pitch. India is unlikely to make changes in the batting line up for the 2nd test.
The bowlers did not get much help while bowling first in the last game and they were made to stay on the field for over two days. However, in the second innings with the pitch starting to do tricks, the bowlers, led by R Ashwin, looked good.
Axar Patel is likely to replace Shahbaz Nadeem, who had an ordinary game. It will be interesting to see if Kuldeep Yadav gets to play with Washington Sundar contributing well with the bat and bowling decent spells.
England team will be delighted with their performance in the first test. They batted well to keep India on the field for more than two days in the first innings. Joe Root led the team with his double ton with Dom Sibley and Ben Stokes supporting him well. Jos Buttler won't be available for the rest of the series which suggests Ben Foakes will be replacing him in the 2nd test.
The bowlers had a great outing as well. They bowled well in both the innings, especially the spinners - Dom Bess and Jack Leach. Jofra Archer was lethal with his fast bowling while James Anderson was classy with his reverse swinging abilities. There is a case of Stuart Broad replacing Anderson in the 2nd test due to the workload management.

India - Axar Patel will be available for selection in the 2nd test.
England - Jos Buttler won't be available for the rest of the test series as he has gone back to England.

In the first test, the pitch played a crucial role to decide the fate of the game. In the 2nd test, the pitch is likely to offer turn from the first day itself. According to reports, there is a bit of grass covering on the pitch however it will be made to keep the bowlers interested from the first day.
