IPL 2020: CSK Sets SRH A Target Of 168
Chennai Super Kings(CSK) finished their first innings at 167/6 against Sunrisers Hyderabad(SRH) courtesy of some brilliant death overs bowling.
Earlier, CSK captain MS Dhoni, for the first time this season, won the toss and opted to bat first. Sam Curran was sent to open the innings with Faf du Plessis. Curran smashed 31 runs off 21 balls, however, CSK could only score 44 runs in the powerplay, losing two wickets.
Ambati Rayudu and Shane Watson stitched an 81 run partnership in 64 balls to steady the ship which once again looked like drowning. Rayudu scored 41 runs in 34 balls, which included two sixes and three fours. Watson smashed three sixes on his way to scoring 42 runs.
Ravindra Jadeja (25 off 10) and MS Dhoni (21 off 13) made sure CSK went past the 160 run mark.
For SRH, Sandeep Sharma was the pick of the bowlers. He took two wickets in his four overs while conceding only 19 runs.
Brief Score - 167/6 (Shane Watson - 42, Ambati Rayudu - 41; Sandeep Sharma - 2/19)
