IPL 2021, Delhi Capitals vs Kolkata Knight Riders, 25th Match

Chasing a modest total of 155, Shaw began the innings by hitting six fours in the first over itself to become only the second player in IPL, and third overall to do so. Both Shikhar Dhawan and Shaw continued to smack the bowler all around the ground to finish the powerplay with 67 runs on board.

The two never stopped, especially Shaw, and continued to maintain the scoring rate of 10 runs an over. Dhawan anchored the innings with his knock of 46 from 47 while his partner smashed the bowlers at the other end as the two added 132 in just 87 balls.

Shaw followed his partner soon after scoring 82 from 41 with the help of 11 fours and three sixes. However, he had done his job and DC was just a few runs away from the victory which was completed by Marcus Stoinis with more than four overs to spare.

Earlier, Kolkata was asked to bat first by Delhi. KKR had a decent powerplay as they scored 47 runs and lost the wicket of Nitish Rana.

However, after the powerplay, Kolkata lost wickets at regular intervals and failed to have a big partnership.

Shubman Gill scored 43 from 38 balls with the help of three fours and a six. Andre Russell started slow but gained his rhythm in the last overs to remain unbeaten on 45 from 27 balls which included four sixes and two fours as KKR finished at a below total of 154/6.
