Rajasthan Royals vs Delhi Capitals 7th Match IPL 2021

Chasing a target of 148, RR looked down and out after they got reduced 42/5 by some disciplined bowling by the DC bowlers, especially in the powerplay. Chris Woakes started the proceedings as he picked both the openers - Manan Vohra and Jos Buttler - early in the innings. In the next over, Kagiso Rabada removed RR captain Sanju Samson.

Avesh Khan continued his impressive form as he got Shivam Dube and Riyan Parag out to further disrupt their chances of winning. He later got David Miller out as well.

However, Rahul Tewatia and Miller then stitched a crucial 48 run partnership from 34 balls to revive the innings and keep Rajasthan in the chase. Tewatia got out after hitting 19 off 17.

Miller got out soon after making an important 62 off 43 with the help of seven fours and two sixes. Chris Morris was alone at the crease with a task still unfinished. He got good support from Jaydev Unadkat, who earlier took three wickets - all inside the powerplay.

Rishabh Pant missed a clear run-out chance of Unadkat, where the ball popped out of his hand right before he clipped the bails.
Needing 29 in 12 balls, Morris smashed four sixes - all came in the final two overs of the game to take his team home and proved his worth.

Earlier, Rajasthan captain Samson asked Delhi to bat first on a pitch that was offering movement to the seamers with the new ball. The decision proved to be right as Delhi three wickets inside the powerplay including both the openers - Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan -and Ajinkya Rahane.

Unadkat took all three and ended his bowling figures with 3/15 in four overs.

Rishabh Pant and debutant Lalit Yadav added 51 for the fifth wicket in 36 balls to keep Delhi in the game. Pant hit a crucial 51 from 32 balls before getting run-out.

Tom Curran and Chris Woakes helped DC reached a competitive score of 147 with their cameos of 21 and 15 respectively.

This was the first time a team did not hit even a single six while playing at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium in the history of the Indian Premier League(IPL).
