IPL 2021, RR vs DC, 7th Match Probable Playing XI: Who Will Replace Ben Stokes?
In the 7th match of IPL 2021, Rajasthan Royals will be meeting Delhi Capitals in Mumbai on Thursday. DC is coming into the game with a win over Chennai Super Kings(CSK) while RR lost to Punjab Kings(PBKS) in their season opener.
Rajasthan Royals batsmen almost pulled off a 222 run chase in their last game. Sanju Samson smashed a hundred but couldn't complete the chase. With Ben Stokes ruled out, Liam Livingstone is likely to replace him. There is a good chance Jos Buttler might open the batting from now on and Livingstone in the middle order.
The role of Chris Morris becomes more important in this team since Stokes won't be available for the entire season. Morris might get to bat up the order to add more firepower.
RR's bowling looked clueless in the last match. They conceded a lot of runs during the middle overs, especially the spinners. Although, debutant Chetan Sakariya bowled brilliantly to take three wickets and conceded just 31 in his four overs where the rest were going not less than 10 per over. RR might replace Mustafizur Rahman with Andrew Tye for this game.
Delhi Capitals cruised their way to chase a 189 run target in the last match. Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw didn't let the bowlers settle and continued to find boundaries regularly. Rishabh Pant will be crucial in the middle overs and could take advantage of RR's weak bowling in that phase. Marcus Stoinis will be used as a finisher along with Shimron Hetmyer.
DC's bowling lineup will get more solid with the addition of Kagiso Rabada. It is unlikely that Anrich Nortje will play since Chris Woakes did a good job in the previous game and he can contribute with the bat as well. R Ashwin had an off game in the last match but he will remain a threat for the batsmen, especially in the powerplay. Avesh Khan could once again be the game-changer for Delhi.
Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals have been neck to neck in the IPL. They both have some solid batsmen in their lineup but the DC's bowling attack looks much better than that of RR's which makes them favorites to win the contest.
