A Super Over decided the fate of Delhi Capitals(DC) and Sunrisers Hyderabad(SRH) in the 20th match of the IPL 2021 in which the former came out on top.

Brief Score - Delhi Capitals - 159/4 (Prithvi Shaw - 53; Rishabh Pant - 37*) & Sunrisers Hyderabad - 159/7 (Kane Williamson - 66*; Jonny Bairstow - 38)

The game went into the super over courtesy of a fighting knock of 66* by Kane Williamson, who got much-needed support from Jagdish Suchith(14 off 6, 2*4s & 1*6) in the end.

Kagiso Rabada needed to defend 16 runs from the final over of the innings which came down to 2 from 1.

Axar Patel was asked to bowl the Super Over for Delhi Capitals against David Warner and Kane Williamson. Patel bowled a disciplined line to restrict SRH to eight runs after the six balls. However, one run was later cut short since it was found that Warner had run a short run.

Rishabh Pant and Shikhar Dhawan chased down the target on the last ball as they too found it difficult to hit against Rashid Khan.

Jonny Bairstow started things well as he scored 38 from just 18 balls and helped SRH score 56 inside the powerplay. However, in that process, Hyderabad lost both Warner and Bairstow.

Williamson beautifully anchored the innings but couldn't get the support he wanted from the middle order. None of the batters from the middle-order could make even double digits score.

Earlier, Delhi Capitals opted to bat first. The decision was a good one as the openers - Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan - piled up 51 runs inside the powerplay. The two added 81 runs for the first wicket in 10 overs.

Shaw made an attacking 53 off 39 balls with the help of seven fours and a six. Dhawan got out scoring 28 from 26.

Steve Smith and Rishabh Pant added 58 for the third wicket and helped Delhi get to a competitive score of 159/4. Smith scored an unbeaten 34 off 25 while Pant made 37 from 27 balls.
