Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) came out on top against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), winning a low-scoring match by three wickets at Mumbai's DY Patil Stadium.

The match went down to the wire in chasing 129 as KKR didn't let things cool down for RCB and kept things tight with their bowling.

It was a horror start for RCB as they lost three wickets for 17 runs inside three overs as Umesh Yadav and Tim Southee made the new ball talk. David Willey and Sherfane Rutherford added 45 runs in 53 balls to steady the ship and keep RCB in the game. Willey scored 18 from 28 before Sunil Narine got him out in the 11th over.

Shahbaz Ahmed was promoted up in the order which worked in favor of RCB as he scored 27 runs from 20 balls with the help of three sixes to shift the momentum towards RCB. Ahmed got out trying to smack Varun Chakaravarthy for a six.

Two overs later, Rutherford got out after making 28 runs from 40 balls, but most importantly, keeping one end intact throughout the inning. Wanindu Hasaranga couldn't do much and got out scoring just four.

After the twin strike from Tim Southee, things once again looked tight but Harshal Patel hit two fours in the penultimate over to get the equation down to seven runs in the last over. Dinesh Karthik smacked a six on the first ball and finished the game with a four.

Earlier, Wanindu Hasaranga's four-wicket haul helped RCB bowl KKR out for mere 128 runs in the first inning.

On being asked to bat first, KKR lost three wickets inside the powerplay and made 44 runs. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals, after pacers in the powerplay, Wanindu Hasaranga ran through KKR's middle order.

Harshal Patel was introduced in the 12th over and he bowled two consecutive maiden overs to start his spell and took a wicket in each over as well.

For Kolkata, Andre Russell top-scored with 25 in 18 balls with the help of three sixes and a four. Umesh Yadav and Varun Chakaravarthy added 27 runs for the last wicket to take KKR close to the 130-run mark.

Apart from Hasaranga's four, Akash Deep took three wickets, Harshal two, and Mohammad Siraj one.
