IPL 2022 Mega Auction - List Of Retained Players
IPL 2022 Mega Auction - The Mega Auction of this 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL) is expected to be a big one with the addition of two new franchises.
Due to the arrival of the two new teams, the IPL will now have 10 franchises, namely - Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders, Lucknow Super Giants, Mumbai Indians, Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans.
Earlier, whenever the Auction happened, the teams had Right To Match (RTM) card where they could pick a released player back. However, due to the new franchises, the rules are changed the RTM card won't be available.
The teams were asked to retain a maximum of four players with a maximum of 3 Indians, 2 overseas players and 2 uncapped Indians.
Each of the eight franchises used the Player Retention option with Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Delhi Capitals (DC), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Mumbai Indians (MI) opting to retain 4 players each. Rajasthan Royals (RR), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have retained 3 players each while Punjab Kings (PBKS) have retained 2.
Let's take a look at the list of all retained players ahead of the IPL Mega Auction 2022:
Chennai Super Kings - CSK have retained four players - Ravindra Jadeja (16 cr), MS Dhoni (12 cr), Moeen Ali (8 cr), and Ruturaj Gaikwad (6 cr). CSK have used up 42 cr of the alloted 90 cr purse and are left with 48 cr for the Auction.
Delhi Capitals - DC have retained four players - Rishabh Pant (16 cr), Axar Patel (9 cr), Prithvi Shaw (7.5 cr), and Anrich Nortje (6.5 cr). DC have used up 42.5 cr of the alloted 90 cr purse and are left with 47.5 cr for the Auction.
Kolkata Knight Riders - KKR have retained four players - Andre Russell (12 cr), Varun Chakaravarthy (8 cr), Venkatesh Iyer (8 cr), and Sunil Narine (6 cr). KKR have used up 42 cr of the alloted 90 cr purse and are left with 48 cr for the Auction.
Mumbai Indians - MI have retained four players - Rohit Sharma (16 cr), Jasprit Bumrah (12 cr), Suryakumar Yadav (8 cr), and Kieron Pollard (6 cr). MI have used up 42 cr of the alloted 90 cr purse and are left with 48 cr for the Auction.
Punjab Kings - PBKS have retained two players - Mayank Agarwal (12 cr) and Arshdeep Singh (4 cr). PBKS have used up 18 cr of the alloted 90 cr purse and are left with 72 cr for the Auction.
Rajasthan Royals - RR have retained three players - Sanju Samson(14cr), Jos Buttler(10cr), and Yashasvi Jaiswal(4cr). RR have used up 28 cr of the alloted 90 cr purse and are left with 62 cr for the Auction.
Royal Challengers Bangalore - RCB have retained three players - Virat Kohli (15 cr), Glenn Maxwell (11 cr), and Mohammad Siraj (7 cr). RCB have used up 33 cr of the alloted 90 cr purse and are left with 57 cr for the Auction.
Sunrisers Hyderabad - SRH have retained three players - Kane Williamson (14 cr), Abdul Samad (4 cr), and Umran Malik (4 cr). SRH have used up 22 cr of the alloted 90 cr purse and are left with 68 cr for the Auction.

IPL Mega Auction - Draft Picks
The two new IPL franchises - Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans - were asked to draft a maximum of three players before the Auction.
Lucknow Super Giants - LSG have picked three players - KL Rahul(17cr), Marcus Stoinis(9.2cr), and Ravi Bishnoi(4cr). LSG have used up 30.2 cr of the allotted 90 cr purse and are left with 59.8 cr for the Auction.
Gujarat Titans - GT have picked three players - Hardik Pandya(15cr), Rashid Khan(15cr), and Shubman Gill(8cr). GT have used up 38 cr of the allotted 90 cr purse and are left with 52 cr for the Auction.
