IPL 2022: MS Dhoni Completes 7,000 Runs In T20 Cricket; Equals AB de Villiers' Record

LSG vs CSK IPL 2022: In the 7th match of IPL 2022 between Luckow Super Giants and Chennai Super Kings, former CSK captain MS Dhoni smackef 16 runs in just 6 balls with 2 fours and a six. With this brief inning, MS Dhoni also registered a record to his name. 

Dhoni smacked the last ball of Chennai innings for a four and completed 7,000 runs in T20 cricket. With this, MS Dhoni has become the 6th Indian to do so. Prior to him, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina, Shikhar Dhawan and Robin Uthappa have achieved this feat. 

Dhoni has scored 4,687 runs in T20 cricket for Chennai Super Kings, 1,617 runs for Team India, 574 runs for Rising Pune Supergiants and 123 runs for Jharkhand.

Coming out to bat in the 19th over, the former CSK captain smacked the very first ball for a six. With this maximum, he also became the batter with joint-most sixes in the 19th over, as this was Dhoni's 36th six in the 19th over. Dhoni has equalled AB de Villiers' record, who also has smacked 36 sixes in the 19th over in his IPL career.

While talking about the match, CSK posted a total of 210/7 in 20 overs after being asked to bat first. Robin Uthappa smacked 50 runs while Shivam Dube also scored 49 runs. For LSG, Avesh Khan, Andrew Tye and Ravi Bishnoi picked up 2 wickets each. This match is being played at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai.
