RR vs RCB IPL 2022: Whenever a player is up against his former franchise, a good performance is expected of the player as the common thinking conveys that the player would be 'eager' to prove something to their old team. If this is so, Chahal proved quite a lot to Royal Challengers Bangalore in his very first match against them after being released.

In the 9th over of the innings, RCB were at 62/2 while chasing a target of 170 runs. At this juncture of the game, Bangalore needed their experienced batter Virat Kohli to stay at the crease and take the game deep. However, Rajasthan Royals' captain Sanju Samson and former RCB player Yuzvendra Chahal teamed up splendidly well to dismiss former Bangalore captain and batting great Virat Kohli.

On the fourth delivery of the 9th over, being bowled by Yuzvendra Chahal, David Willey was on strike and pushed a full-length delivery by the spinner on leg stump line towards his on side, and Virat rushed for a single. However, Willey refused and Kohli had to turn back and make it back inside the crease.

Meanwhile, Sanju Samson sprinted towards the ball and executed a rocket throw towards the non-striker end. Yuzvendra Chahal showed his skills as he collected the rocket throw beautifully and dislodged the bails. It seemed a bit lazy from Virat Kohli and in the replay his bat was found on the crease when the bails were dislodged, and hence was adjudged out.

Chahal already had picked up RCB skipper Faf du Plessis in his previous over and went on to dismiss David Willey on the very next ball of Kohli's dismissal.
