Bumrah Replaces Rohit As The Captain Of Indian Squad For The Edgbaston Test
Unfortunate Rohit Sharma ruled out of the rescheduled fifth test against England that is to be played from 1-5 July. Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah will now lead the Indian side for the only test at Edgbaston.
Earlier on 26th June, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was tested COVID positive in a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) and got isolated at the team hotel under the supervision of BCCI medical team.
In India vs Leicestershire practice match, Rohit batted on day one but didn't take the field on the second day. He did not even came to bat in the second inning for India. Opener Mayank Agarwal had already joined Indian camp as Rohit Sharma's cover.

Talking about Bumrah, the pacer would be glorified to get the opportunity to lead the Indian squad as none of the fast bowler has led India since Kapil Dev in 1987.
The visitors are currently leading the five-match test series by 2-1 and hoping to win or draw the final game at Birmingham to seize the series.
