Jhye Richardson Guides Perth Scorchers To A Win Against Hobart Hurricanes
Jhye Richardson's all-round performance helps Perth Scorchers beat Hobart Hurricanes in the 47th match of the Big Bash League(BBL) on Friday.
Chasing a tricky target of 180 was made even more difficult for Hurricanes by Jhye Richardson's accurate bowling. Richardson removed Mathew Wade and Ben McDermott early to push Hobart at backfoot.
Dawid Malan soon followed his teammates back in the Pavillion - courtesy of Jason Behrendorff. Peter Handscomb and D'Arcy Short stitched a 44 run stand between them to make sure Hobart remained in the chase. Handscomb scored 30 off 16 with the help of four fours and a six before Richardson broke through his stumps.
D'Arcy Short got caught after scoring 43 off 37, more importantly keeping the Hurricanes in the game. Tim David(21) and Nathan Ellis'(27) innings could hardly make an impact in the chase as Hobart fell short of 22 runs.
Earlier, Josh Inglis scored a fluent 58 before Jhye Richardson 29 off 14 gave the perfect finish to Perth Scorchers score. Richardson's knock included three fours and two sixes.
Nathan Ellis took four wickets for Hobart Hurricanes.
