Jos Buttler Powers Rajasthan To IPL 2022 Finals With A Thunderous Ton
RR vs RCB IPL 2022 - Rajasthan Royals' explosive opener, Jos Buttler powered his team to a convincing 7-wicket win against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Qualifier 2 of the IPL 2022. With this win, Rajasthan Royals have confirmed their berth for the IPL 2022 finals on May 29th (Sunday), against Gujarat Titans.
Opener Jos Buttler gave an explosive start to Rajasthan, taking the score to 67/1 after the powerplay. His opening partner Yashasvi Jaiswal also was in an explosive mood, scoring 21 runs in 13 deliveries with a four & 2 sixes. However, he was dismissed by Josh Hazlewood in the 6th over at a team total of 61.
Sanju Samson came out to bat at #3 and scored 23 runs in 21 deliveries with a four & 2 sixes, etching a partnership of 52 runs in just 39 deliveries with Jos Buttler for the second wicket. However, he was yet again dismissed by Wanindu Hasaranga.
However, Buttler held one end and with Devdutt Padikkal, took RR to 161/3 in 18.1 overs, winning the match with _ wickets in hand.
For Royal Challengers Bangalore, Josh Hazlewood picked up 2 wickets while Wanindu Hasaranga picked up 1 wicket each as Rajasthan got across the finishing line with 11 deliveries in hand. Buttler remained unbeaten on 106 in 60 deliveries with 10 fours & 6 sixes.
In the first innings, Rajasthan Royals made a fine comeback in the 2nd half, restricting Royal Challengers Bangalore to 157/8 in 20 overs.
Prasidh Krishna was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets to his name, including opener Virat Kohli & finisher Dinesh Karthik. Obed McCoy also registered 3 wickets, while Trent Boult & R Ashwin managed 1 wicket each.
Rajat Patidar was yet again the top scorer with 58 runs in 42 deliveries with 4 fours & 3 sixes. Faf du Plessis & Glenn Maxwell contributed with 25 & 24 runs each.
Earlier, RR captain Sanju Samson won the toss & opted to bowl first against RCB in Qualifier 2 of IPL 2022. This match is being played at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
