Kolkata, July 28 - Expressing apprehension that the West Bengal assembly polls scheduled next year could clash with the April 3 Twenty20 International final slated to be played at the Eden Gardens, the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) said on Monday it would ask authorities to fix the poll schedule keeping in mind the big event.

"CAB will look into this matter, I am sure something will be sorted out," association's joint secretary and former India captain Sourav Ganguly told reporters after its annual general meeting.

The other CAB joint secretary Subir Ganguly said: "We will convey the problem to the state government. But I think when such a big event is taking place here the authorities will keep this in mind while scheduling the date."

"We are apprehensive the final of the World T20 might clash with the elections. We will see what can be done about so that it doesnot harm any side," Mohammedan Sporting Club president and CAB working committee member Sultan Ahmed told the media.

Meanwhile, at the AGM, the annual accounts was passed after modification, said Ganguly and working committee member Subrata Mukherjee.

"I had a word with members, the accounts were formally passed after certain modifications," said Mukherjee, a heavyweight state minister.

Ganguly said: "Whatever he (Subrata Mukherjee) has said is correct. Bablu Da (Subir Ganguly-joint secretary) had a word with him last night."

He, however, refrained from commenting on the issue of the Bengal coach saying:" We will decide upon it very soon, maybe in the next three to four days because the pre-season will start."

"The main focus is to create a better Bengal team, we are not pleased with the performance over the last few years," he said.
