On Wednesday, Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals eased past Rajasthan Royals in match 58 of the IPL 2022. The Royals had scored a below-par total of 160/6 in the first innings with R Ashwin as the top-scorer with 50 runs. The Capitals' run chase was led by Mitchell Marsh and David Warner, who added 144 runs for the second wicket. Marsh scored 89 runs and Warner scored an unbeaten fifty as DC won the match by eight wickets and 11 balls to spare - a massive boost for their NRR.

Latest IPL 2022 Points Table

Although there is no change in the standing of any team, Delhi Capitals have strengthened their position at fifth place with a 0.210 NRR and 12 points. Teams like Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Punjab Kings - who have 10 points each - will need a big win to come close to DC's NRR.

Rajasthan's loss has further opened up the table as they are stuck at 14 points with Royal Challengers Bangalore and only two matches to go. A win keeps them going but another loss will make them sweat hard to qualify for the playoffs. RCB's concern is regarding their negative NRR too otherwise they are in the same boat as RR.

Chennai Super Kings are still keeping their hopes alive for an outside chance. Currently, they are ninth in the table with eight points and will need to win all three games - a big win will be helpful - and hope for some results to go in their way to make it into the playoffs.

Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians are sorted. While one has already qualified for the playoffs, the other is already out of the tournament.

Latest Orange Cap Holder

Jos Buttler continues to wear orange with 625 runs followed by KL Rahul at second with 459 runs. David Warner is now third in the list of the top run-scorers list of this season with 427 runs to his name.
