Head to Head
The two teams have so far met twice and both teams have won one match apiece.Pune
Rising Pune Supergiants
The team has several in-form batsmen; captain Steven Smith, MS Dhoni, Ajinkya Rahane, Faf du Plessis and all-rounder Ben Stokes. The opener Mayank Agarwal is also in good form and performed well in the recently-concluded home season. Though R Ashwin is out of the IPL because of injury, Pune's spin department looks strong with experienced Imran Tahir & young Adam Zampa. Fast bowling is slightly a weaker point for the team.
For the first time MS Dhoni will play under the captainship of someone else in IPL.

Mumbai Indians
The batting will revolve around captain Rohit Sharma, Jos Buttler, all-rounder Kieron Pollard and Hardik Pandya. On the bowling side, the team will miss Lasith Malinga in their first game and therefore the onus falls on Jasprit Bumrah, Tim Southee and Mitchell McClenaghan to dent the opposition batting line-up.
