N Jagadeesan Creates World Record With His 5th Consecutive Ton In Vijay Hazare Trophy; Goes On To Complete Double Ton

N Jagadeesan has been in blazing form in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy and has now attained a World Record, previously achieved by no one. Jagadeesan smacked 5th consecutive ton in the VHT match against Arunachal Pradesh and became the 1st player ever to score 5 consecutive tons in List A Cricket. 

Moreover, N Jagadeesan broke Virat Kohli's record of most centuries in a single season of the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Previously, Virat Kohli held the record of 4 centuries along with Prithvi Shaw, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Devdutt Padikkal and has unlocked a new achievement. 

With his 5th consecutive ton in List A Cricket, N Jagadeesan has broken the record of Sri Lankan legend Kumar Sangakkara, South Africa's Alviro Petersen and Devdutt Padikkal, who had smacked 4 consecutive centuries. 

N Jagadeesan started his ton run with the match against Andhra Pradesh, where he smacked 114* runs off 112 balls. In the next match, Jagadeesan scored 107 runs in 113 balls against Chattisgarh, followed by a 140-ball-168 knock against Goa. 

In the last match, N Jagadeesan scored 128 runs in 123 balls while in the match against  Arunachal Pradesh, the 26-year-old has switched on the beast mode to become the 10th Indian player to smack double centuries in List A cricket. Jagadeesan completed his double century in just 114 deliveries. 

Amidst this, Jagadeesan and B Sai Sudharshan broke the record for the highest partnership for any wicket in List A cricket, etching 416 runs in just 38.3 overs. 

Jagadeesan went on to score 277 runs in 141 balls with 25 fours & 15 sixes to register the highest individual score in List A cricket by any cricketer in the world.

Courtesy of this knock, Tamil Nadu became the 1st team ever to cross the 500-run mark in List A cricket as they posted 506/2 in 50 overs against Arunachal Pradesh.

Prior to the match against Arunachal Pradesh, Jagadeesan had accumulated 522 runs in 5 matches in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy. Jagadeesan has averaged a tremendous 130.50 in the tournament while having a strike rate of 105.66. He has been the top scorer in the ongoing VHT and Chennai Super Kings, who recently released the young keeper-batter, would be having a pinch of regret, while the other franchises would eye the youngster in the upcoming IPL 2023 mini-auction.
