Nagaland's Khrievitso Kense Gets A Call From Mumbai Indians
Khrievitso Kense has become one of the few players to get shortlisted for the trials conducted by IPL franchise Mumbai Indians.
Coming from Nagaland, the 16-year-old leg spinner is the first player from the state to have caught attention from an Indian Premier League(IPL) franchise.
Kense looked impressive during his debut season in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021 while playing for Nagaland. The leg spinner took seven wickets in four matches at an impressive economy of 5.47. He produced his best figures against Mizoram - 3/16.
According to a report in Eastern Mirror, Kense got spotted by a Mumbai Indians official, who then approached him. The 16-year-old has since then been quite excited to give trials for the Mumbai Indians franchise.
If the young leg spinner gets selected to play in the Indian Premier League, it will be a huge boost not only for Kense's career but also for the whole of Nagaland Cricket. He will become the first from the northeast to play in the Indian Premier League(IPL).
Nagaland was the best performing team from the northeast in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021. They won four matches out of five, one got washed out. They finished behind Chandigarh and Bihar in the group.
